Attorneys Jennifer Morris and Scott Weber Join QJHP&C
QJHP&C is proud to announce the addition of two Associate Attorneys.
Jennifer Morris is a graduate of Illinois State University and Southern Illinois University School of Law. She practiced law for four years with another Peoria law firm before joining QJHP&C. She practices in the area of civil litigation and workers’ compensation defense. Jennifer is an active member of the community, including the Peoria County Bar Association and currently serves on the Boards of Directors of Court Appointed Special Advocates (CASA) of Peoria County and the Illinois Network of Child Care Resource & Referral Agencies.
Scott Weber, a 2009 graduate of the University of Illinois College of Law, plans to focus his practice in the areas of business, commercial transactions and real estate. Scott earned his undergraduate degree in 2006 from Beloit College. He was married in September to Sara Fertig and he enjoys playing basketball and soccer.
Presentations and Seminars
In October, Matt Smith gave an invited lecture on apparent agency to the Illinois Provider Trust annual meeting in Peoria. Also in October, Matt gave a three hour joint lecture on motion practice for the Counsel for Litigation Management in Oak Brook, Illinois.
In November, Elizabeth Larsen gave an invited presentation to the medical staff of Trinity Medical Center entitled "The Joint Commission: What You Don’t Know Can Hurt You."
Also in November, Laura Petersen made a continuing medical education presentation at Pekin Memorial Hospital regarding healthcare law developments. The presentation addressed legal updates in the areas of Illinois healthcare regulations; healthcare financing; hospital/physician relationships; patient care issues and public policy issues.
Dave Collins has been invited by IICLE (Illinois Institute of Continuing Legal Education) to speak on the topic "Punitive Damages - Defendant’s Prospective" at a program on February 11, 2010 in Chicago.
